Our Commitment to
Safeguarding

Safeguarding is central to everything we do at AS2Educate, with the safety and wellbeing of young people always the priority.

Many students arrive with experiences that can affect how safe or settled they feel. Our role is to provide an environment where they feel supported, respected and protected.

All staff share responsibility for safeguarding and are trained to recognise concerns, respond appropriately and ensure young people receive the support they need.

Designated Safeguarding Lead

AS2Educate has a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who oversees safeguarding practice across the provision.

Claire Ames - Designated Safeguarding Lead

Claire is responsible for ensuring safeguarding concerns are handled quickly and appropriately. She works closely with staff, local authorities and safeguarding professionals to ensure young people receive the support and protection they need.

If you have a safeguarding concern about a young person at AS2Educate, please contact Claire directly.

Reporting Concerns

Safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and managed in line with national guidance. AS2Educate works closely with:
Local authority safeguarding teams
Children's social care
Schools and virtual schools
Police and safeguarding professionals

This partnership approach ensures concerns are addressed quickly and young people receive the right support.

Prevent, Online Safety & Contextual Safeguarding

AS2Educate recognises that safeguarding risks can occur both inside and outside of education.

Staff are trained to identify and respond to concerns linked to radicalisation in line with the Prevent Duty, as well as risks such as exploitation and county lines involvement.

Young people are also supported to understand online safety, including responsible use of social media and how to recognise potential risks. A contextual safeguarding approach ensures staff remain aware of risks from peer groups, communities and online environments.

For Young People

If you are a student at AS2Educate and something is worrying you, you are not expected to deal with it alone.

You can speak to any member of staff you trust, or talk directly to Claire, the Designated Safeguarding Lead, who is there to make sure you feel safe and supported.
