The Story Behind
AS2Educate was founded to support young people whose needs were not being met in traditional school environments.
Founder Richard FIhosy moved into education after a background in law and recognised the impact that strong relationships and belief in young people can have. His own experiences shaped the vision for AS2Educate, grounded in the belief that education is something no one can take away.
What began as a small community-based provision has grown into a dedicated Alternative Provision with specialist facilities, vocational pathways and an experienced team.

Finding the RIght Way Forward
AS2Educate supports young people aged 14–18 who need education to work differently.
While mainstream education works for many, some young people benefit from a different approach. AS2Educate provides a KS4 and Post-16 Alternative Provision where students can reconnect with learning, rebuild confidence and begin moving forward.
Our provision supports a range of needs, including SEMH, anxiety, additional learning needs and experiences of trauma or disruption.
Students benefit from:
Putting Progression
Into Practice
AS2Educate was created to provide education that prepares young people for adulthood, not just the next step in school.
Our approach focuses on progression. Alongside academic learning, students develop life skills, confidence and a clearer sense of direction for their future.
Vocational Pathway
Students can work toward recognised qualifications while exploring practical and vocational pathways such as:

Moving Toward
These opportunities help students build confidence, resilience, teamwork and employability skills. Our aim is not simply to stabilise a situation, but to help each young person move toward:
Every step forward becomes part of a wider journey toward independence.
For Young People
If you are a student at AS2Educate and something is worrying you, you are not expected to deal with it alone.
You can speak to any member of staff you trust, or talk directly to Claire, the Designated Safeguarding Lead, who is there to make sure you feel safe and supported.
Whether you are worried about yourself, a friend or something outside of the provision, we will always listen, take you seriously and help you get the right support.
