Working in
Partnership to Support Young People

AS2Educate works in partnership with local authorities, schools and safeguarding professionals to support young people who require Alternative Provision.

We support students aged 14–18 (KS4 and Post-16) who benefit from a smaller environment to reconnect with learning and move toward adulthood.

AS2Educate works with commissioners across:
  • Hertfordshire
  • Bedfordshire
  • Central Bedfordshire

Placements focus on rebuilding confidence while developing the academic, vocational and life skills needed for the next stage.

Referral Process & Placement Criteria

We aim to keep the referral process straightforward and collaborative, with referrals made by local authorities, schools, virtual schools, social workers and other professionals.

Students referred to AS2Educate may:

Be at risk of exclusion or unable to engage in mainstream education
Have SEMH needs, anxiety or additional learning needs
Require a smaller, personalised learning environment
Need support preparing for college, training or employment
Be looked-after, previously looked-after or care experienced
All referrals are reviewed carefully to ensure the provision is the right fit. Where appropriate, a meeting is arranged with the young person and professionals before confirming placement.

Safeguarding & Quality Assurance

Safeguarding underpins every aspect of the provision. AS2Educate operates with clear safeguarding procedures and works closely with local authority safeguarding teams, social care services and other professionals supporting young people.

The provision also participates in local authority quality assurance processes, ensuring that safeguarding, education delivery and operational standards remain consistently high.

Capacity & Partnership Approach

AS2Educate operates with small cohorts, allowing for personalised support and consistent relationships that help young people re-engage with learning and rebuild confidence.

We work closely with:

Local Authority Commissioners
Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts
Virtual Schools
Social Workers and Safeguarding Teams
Children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation
Regular communication and collaborative planning ensure each placement supports the wider network around the young person.
If you would like to discuss a placement or explore support in your area, our team will be happy to help.
