Beyond the Classroom

Why Progression Matters to Us
At AS2Educate, education is about far more than attendance, behaviour or qualifications alone. We built our provision around the belief that young people deserve long-term opportunities, meaningful progression and support that continues beyond the classroom itself.
Many of the students who arrive with us have experienced difficult journeys through education. Some may have faced exclusion, anxiety, trauma or long periods of disengagement from learning, while others may never have experienced positive recognition within education settings before. These experiences can have a huge impact on confidence, relationships and future aspirations.
Our role is not simply to stabilise situations temporarily, but to help young people rebuild belief in themselves while preparing for adulthood and future opportunities.
Celebrating Progress Through Graduation
One of the ways we reinforce that belief is through our Graduation Programme, which publicly celebrates the progress, resilience and achievements of students as they complete their journey with us.
Graduation is an important moment because it allows young people to reflect on how far they have come, often after periods where education may have previously felt inaccessible or difficult. Our ceremonies bring together students, staff, families and professionals to recognise achievement and reinforce the progress each young person has made during their time at AS2Educate.
Success within Alternative Provision does not always look the same for every student. For some young people, graduation may celebrate qualifications, college placements or apprenticeships. For others, it may recognise emotional growth, improved attendance, increased confidence or simply the ability to engage positively within education again.
Graduation helps young people see themselves differently. It reinforces the idea that their future does not need to be defined by previous challenges and that positive progression is always possible with the right support and environment around them.
Continuing Support Through Our Scholarship Programme
Support at AS2Educate does not stop once placement ends. We understand that transitions into further education or employment can often be one of the most challenging stages for young people, particularly for those who may already have experienced instability or disruption within education.
To help support those transitions, we offer a scholarship programme for students progressing into further education. Young people can receive a £100 monthly scholarship during their first year after leaving us to help cover practical costs such as travel, books, learning materials and essential equipment.
Our scholarship programme was created to help remove barriers that may otherwise affect attendance or progression within college and training environments. More importantly, it reinforces a clear message that our support continues beyond placement and that young people remain valued and encouraged as they move into the next stage of their lives.
