AS2Educate Progress Journal: May 2026

May was a busy and positive month at AS2Educate, so we'd like to share some of the achievements, activities and milestones that made it so memorable!
Academic Successes
We're incredibly proud of our students who recently sat and passed their Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths across a variety of levels!
These achievements represent much more than exam results. For many of our students, they reflect hard work, perseverance and a growing confidence in their own abilities.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved!
Catering Highlights
The kitchen has been a busy place throughout May, with students producing a variety of fantastic recipes as part of their catering sessions.
From developing practical life skills to building confidence and independence, these sessions continue to provide valuable opportunities for learning outside of the traditional classroom environment.
And, of course, there have been plenty of tasty creations along the way!
Welcoming New Students
We've been delighted to welcome three new students to AS2Educate.
Settling into a new environment can be challenging, but all three have made a fantastic start, building positive relationships with staff, forming new friendships and engaging well with provision life.
Most importantly, they have begun taking positive steps towards rebuilding their relationship with education, and we're excited to support them on that journey.
Learning Beyond Our Provision
Members of our Senior Leadership Team attended The South East CYP Group Conference during May.
The event featured a range of inspiring speakers, thought-provoking discussions and powerful keynote presentations focused on supporting children and young people.
We're already exploring how some of the ideas and learning from the event can be incorporated into future staff development, training opportunities and collaborative projects during the next academic year.
Sports & Enrichment
Our sports and enrichment programme continued to provide students with opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy positive experiences together.
The warmer weather brought some welcome outdoor activities, including visits to the splash park, pond dipping and a range of team-building and sporting sessions.
These experiences remain an important part of helping students develop socially, emotionally and personally alongside their academic learning.
Award Recognition
We're incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for two categories at the Alterna Prestige Awards 2026:
- Future Pathways and Progression
- Excellence in Student Relationships
These nominations reflect the dedication of our staff team and the incredible progress made by the young people we support.
The awards ceremony takes place on 3rd July, and we're looking forward to celebrating alongside other organisations making a difference across the sector!
A New Look for AS2Educate
One of the biggest milestones this year has been the launch of our new branding and website.
Over the past few months, we've been working behind the scenes to create a brand that better reflects who we are today, alongside a new website that provides a clearer insight into our provision, facilities and approach.
If you haven't already had a look, we'd love for you to visit!
You can also keep up to date with life at AS2Educate through our growing social media channels, where we regularly share student achievements, activities and updates from across the provision.
Looking Ahead
As we head into the final weeks of the academic year, we're looking forward to continuing to support our students, celebrating their achievements and creating more opportunities for them to succeed.
Thank you to all of our students, families, staff and professional partners for your continued support.
Progress is always possible.
