Welcome to the August edition of our Progress Journal!

While our students and staff enjoyed a well-earned summer break, there was plenty happening behind the scenes at AS2Educate throughout August.

From refreshing our provision with our new branding and introducing new student displays, to updating policies, investing in learning resources and planning further professional development for our team, August gave us the opportunity to make sure everything was ready for the year ahead.

Now September is here, we’re really looking forward to having our staff and young people back and seeing AS2Educate full of life again.

Here’s a look at what we got up to during August! 

A Fresh Look for AS2Educate

Our refreshed AS2Educate branding has officially made its way across our provision, and we couldn’t be happier with how it looks!

Throughout the summer, the site was updated with our new visual identity, giving the building a fresh, consistent look that better reflects AS2Educate today.

It’s been brilliant seeing the new brand come to life beyond our website and digital channels, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Making Information Clearer for Our Students

We’ve also introduced new student boards throughout the building, creating clearer and more engaging displays for our young people.

This includes dedicated information around our DREAM Points, making it easier for students to understand how they can earn points, recognise their progress and work towards rewards that are meaningful to them.

The idea is to make important information clearer and more accessible, while helping our young people stay engaged with their progress and the rewards they’re working towards.

Keeping Safeguarding Up to Date

August also gave our team valuable time to review and update our policies in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026.

Safeguarding is embedded throughout AS2Educate, so keeping our policies, knowledge and practice current is an important part of ensuring we're providing the safest possible environment for every young person we support.

Investing in Our Team

We’ve confirmed some exciting training opportunities for the year ahead, continuing our commitment to staff development and CPD.

Giving our team opportunities to develop their knowledge, reflect on their practice and learn from others helps us continue strengthening the support we provide across AS2Educate.

We’re looking forward to sharing more from our training throughout the year!

New Resources for the Year Ahead

It wasn't only the building getting a refresh over the summer! We’ve invested in a range of new learning resources to support our students and continue developing the learning opportunities available to them.

We’ve also ordered new gym equipment, giving our young people even more opportunities to get active and make the most of our physical education and enrichment offer.

Rested, Recharged and Ready to Go

Our team has been making the most of a much-needed summer break, and after a busy year, it was thoroughly deserved!

Now September has arrived, we’re excited to have everyone back together and ready for everything the new academic year has in store.

There are plenty of exciting plans ahead, and we’re looking forward to another year of supporting our young people to learn, develop and achieve.

Where Did Everyone Go This Summer? 

There’s one AS2Educate tradition we’re particularly looking forward to continuing this September: our fridge magnet collection!

Whenever a member of the team travels somewhere new, they bring a magnet back to add to our collection. Over the summer, our staff have been travelling near and far, so we're expecting the fridge to become considerably more crowded!

It might seem like a small tradition, but the magnets are a great way to spark conversations with our young people about different countries, cultures and experiences.

Most importantly, they’re a reminder that there’s a big world beyond the places we know, with plenty out there for our young people to discover and explore for themselves. 

Looking Ahead to September

After a summer of preparation, September is finally here and we’re ready to get started.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our young people and staff back, putting all of our summer preparations into practice and beginning another year filled with new opportunities, achievements and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

We hope everyone had a fantastic summer, and we can’t wait to see what the year ahead brings!
